When did you know music was for you? Well, throughout my entire life, I’ve known I was suppose to be a musician. My Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandmother can ALL sing their a**es off. You see, my first CD that I EVER paid for out my own pocket was “Diary of Alicia Keys” when I was like 9 or 10 y.o. THAT project was how I discovered I could sing and it changed my whole life....like I legit got my grandma to braid my hair and my great grandma to buy me a Keyboard at a pawn shop AND my Mom bought me her sheet music. Funny thing is I didn’t dabble in Rapping at all until I heard Gym Class Heroes in Middle School around the first time I was in a band. “I’ve known I was suppose to be a musician” What artists have influenced your music? Jimi Hendrix - Because I love how organic and natural his singing voice is like he’s not trying to sing you know? He just makes music. Pink Floyd - They have an extremely experimental sound especially for their time as well as their ability to play with themes and conceptual rock pieces Freddy Mercury and Lady Gaga For theatrical performances like no other! Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - I LOVE Classic music even as a kid I use to just sit around and listen to the Classic station all the time. However, Mozart was so ahead of his time he was willing to try things that not a lot of composers within his genre were willing to do. Kanye West Andre 3000 and Eminem - For constantly evolving and being some of the most experimental mainstream hip-hop artists. Kurt Cobain - for being himself. He just does him which is so hard to find nowadays. Left Eye and Queen Latifah - For promoting positive messages in their music. They aren’t afraid to work with anyone and they each have their own sound.
