Bramwell, West Virginia Come visit the Town of the Millionaires! This little town was a hub of wealth, with more millionaires per capita than anywhere in the country. The Pocahontas coalfields were rich with coal, and nineteen of the barons who owned the busineses settled right here on these little stone streets. They built lavish mansions with ballrooms and full-sized homes as playhouses for their children. The pharmacy, now a café with its original soda fountain, was one of the first stores to carry the upscale Chanel No. 5. Visitors can still explore Millionaire Row, and during the spring and Christmas tours, visitors can even get a peek inside. The Bramwell Depot is the gateway to this mining and millionaire town’s tales with its museum of local history. Greater Bluefield Chamber of Commerce | 13
