Swampy & the Note Troll is a Canadian songwriting and production team comprised of NASA scientist and hydroponic systems expert Cody "Swamp" Thompson & professional water resource engineer and music producer Josh "the Note Troll" Maitland.

The project began in July of 2013 as a cathartic weekend of jamming after a rough couple of months at Maitland's studio, Red Room Recordings (www.redroomrecordings.ca).

For both Cody and Josh, challenging life events have always acted as a creative catalyst, and what started as a 30 hour rock & roll therapy session has now transformed into a full-on blues soaked middle finger to the man, with loads of collaborators along the way.

Their First full length album, "Mandatory Minimums" was released March 27th, 2015, and is a tribute to anyone who has been jailed, derailed or failed by a system which favors wealth over health and profits over people - It features a mixture of blues, hard rock and spacious ballads of both the soulful and psychedelic varieties.

Hot on the heels of their first release, Swampy and the Note Troll are currently playing a number of pub shows and festival gigs around the province of Ontario during the summer and fall of 2015 and they have begun recording demo's for a follow up EP titled "Stay Hungry".

Their 2015 summer tour has seen the addition of two new members to the ranks, including expert percussionist Bambalamb, who has toured with acts as diverse as Issac Hayes, Bodycount & Ras Michael, and classically trained jazz guitarist Sean Ratcliffe who also spends his days in the NASA laboratories with Swamp Thompson.
