BLANCK MAGAZINE ( THE MENTAL HEALTH ISSUE) Blanck Lite- THE MENTAL HEALTH ISSUE | Page 2

EDITORS NOTE This is our first art inspired issue and it is a blessing to have the opportunity to join our voices with those of many others around the globe on this day, 10 October 2018 to mark the World’s Mental Health Day. Inside this issue are inspiring articles in line with our mental health awareness campaign and brilliantly mixed with artistic expressions that give the theme the needed balance. Working on this issue has stretched me in many ways, but above all it has opened my eyes to the reality of the dangers of the stigmatisation of mental illness . When other physi- cal parts of you suffers you get sympathy from people, but mental illness carries with it shame. This shame has pushed many into dark corners and in worse cases tilted them over the edge to their untimely deaths. I have very little to say here, but I’d encourage you to read this issue, share it with friends and family and please do not forget to ‘Ask Twice’ how the people around you are doing. You may just be sav- ing a life. If you are struggling or know someone that may need help, there is a growing community of mental health charities that are available to you and yours. Embrace your struggle, it will make you stronger. Till we meet again, take care of yourself. Love Franka Chiedu. 2 / BLANCKLITE / OCT 2018 / www.blanckdigital.com
