Whether you respect Jay-Z as an artist, the overall message, in my opinion, of his song, ‘The Story of OJ’ rings so true today. One of the lines that stands out so loudly to me is, “Y’all on the ‘Gram holdin’ money to your ear, There’s a disconnect we don’t call that money over here…”

How many people do you know that are “hood rich”? Rims, rides, bling, girls…you name it. Things that symbolizes ‘rich’, based on the ‘never hads but now I do’. I see people all the time on social media holding up money, posing in front of fancy cars, and even sitting in front of music equipment in a studio telling you when their next single is going to drop. Absolutely no problem with dreaming…but how is your money working for you when it’s tied up into material things that rarely yield a great financial return?

Imagine if those same dollars that were spent on material things, were put into a legit business: a daycare, a carwash, a jewelry repair store, an auto

detail shop, a car repair shop, or a franchise like Blimpies, 7-11, Chipotle or any of the other available ones (Did you know that the franchise business model has a 97% success rate?)

I challenge you to explore more, learn more, seek out more…do more. You are too legit to quit!
