around. My son wore a bike helmet until he was three years old. He had self-injurious behaviors, I did not know Jam had Autism until he was 4 years old going into kindergarten. I had been working with Jam teaching him sign language so that he would at least be able to communicate his basic needs and wants, but he was so over stimulated he couldn't sign very much.

I started taking him to a psychologist who in turn referred him to a psychiatrist. This would be the first time Jam was introduced to psych medicines. Jam did not do good at all on these medications. They kept upping the dosage and adding and changing medications. By the time Jam was 13 I decided to take him off all psych medicines. As a result of one of the many side effects of the multiple medications he was on he developed verbal and physical tics, which made him not want to practice hi speech, or even want to rap anymore. The hard thrusts from the physical tics were very painful.
