CABL is a crucial community institution, which represents black lawyers and the broader black community with distinction. I decided to take out a Lifetime Membership to communicate my faith in CABL’s mission, leadership and membership. Supporting CABL in this way is one small act of community self-love.

I joined CABL in the mid-90s for reasons that occur to me as even more compelling today. No matter in which area of law we choose to make our respective contributions, not one of us can accomplish alone what we can accomplish together. And with the fellowship of like-minded friends, the challenges we are prone to encounter can become inconveniences.

Being a CABL member has always been important to me. I grew up with CABL—first as a Board member, and more recently as committee member. Although I have been a member since my first year of practice, I always forgot to pay my membership on time. Becoming a Lifetime member made perfect sense, as it meant I never had to remember to renew my membership again!
