Black Hills Cruisin’ C ertified Escort Riders of America (CERA) will come to Custer this year for Custer Cruisin’ and will offer skills instruction, certification testing and certification practice throughout the week. CERA is dedicated to training civilian motorcycle escorts and road guards so they may conduct escort missions in safety and with pride in their abilities. To that end, CERA has instituted steps to instruct, test and certify escort riders. It is important to note that you do not need to be an escort rider, or even consider being one, to learn to operate like an escort rider. Membership is open to all riders who wish to improve their motorcycle skills. CERA policies will be strictly enforced; the following infor- mation outlines the CERA operational August 2017, Page 7 structure. CERA will set up shop Aug. 4-10 at the tennis courts located between the south Mt. Rushmore Road alley and Washington Street near the Custer Area Chamber of Commerce. CERA will have the following schedule each day: • Skills Demonstration - 10 a.m. • Solo Riders Skills Instruction - 10:30 a.m. • Skills Demonstration with Passenger - 1:30 p.m. • Solo or Passenger Skills Instruction - 2 p.m. • Challenge Box - 3:30 p.m. • Certification Practice - 5 p.m. • Certification Testing - 6 p.m. Instruction riding at its finest will be at Custer Cruisin’ this year, as the Certified Escort Riders of America will give a variety of demonstrations throughout the week. The riders will conduct their presentations at the tennis courts located near the Custer Area Chamber of Commerce.
