editor’s note Hope digital healthcare doesn’t remain a pipedream! I have been witnessing an increase in number of events related to digital healthcare in the national capital. Rightly so, the various forums held by both the government and private healthcare associations have been laying emphasis on the digital transformation of the healthcare. However, having attended these deliberations and then done the tracking on ground, there seems to be a clear gap between setting goals and their implementation that ideally has to begin first in the rural parts of India. In that context, there are certain questions that one might be asking to g et sure about that. Do the healthcare workers get access to the digital technologies for the basic health checkups? Do they get digital thermometers, blood pressure machines, blood sugar checking devices under any government schemes? Are there any goodwill operations by the big multinationals in this direction? Is the telemedicine really happening and if yes, then can we call it massive? On a positive note, the right noises on digital transformation of the healthcare are indeed a welcome measure. Now, the time bound action on that, particularly with respect to upgrading the infrastructure, boosting the skills of doctors and healthcare workers will prove more magical. Hoping to see that happening soon. Keep mailing us and following the BioVoice News! RAHUL KOUL CHIEF EDITOR BIOVOICENEWS.COM 7
