How could measures such as price-control be assumed to bolster innovative technologies when they can potentially shrink the ability to pay for those innovations? The people of this country deserve access to safe and long-lasting healthcare services, with due cognizance of the importance of quality medical devices, much as our soldiers deserve a safer mechanism to guard our borders. Supplementing price- control policies in the healthcare framework with sustained support to innovation and R&D is the crying need of the hour.
