SUDHASHU VRATI TAKES CHARGE AT REGIONAL CENTRE FOR BIOTECHNOLOGY
Dr Sudhanshu Vrati has been appointed as the Executive Director
of the Regional Centre for Biotechnology , a part of the Faridabad Biocluster of the Department of Biotechnology . Dr Vrati was earlier serving as the Executive Director of the Translational Health Research and Technology institute . He has also been a senior scientist at National Institute of Immunology ( NII ), New Delhi , and also actively involved with THSTI since 2005 .
With rich biotechnology background and deep research experience , his present research interest lies in the area of RNA virus replication and vaccine development . His group at the VIDRC within THSTI focuses on key aspects of the JEV life-cycle like receptor binding and entry mechanisms , molecular mechanisms of virus replication , assembly and egress . Besides , he has been also involved in the clinical development of an oral rotavirus vaccine .
Dr Vrati did his Masters in Microbiology from G . B . Pant University of Agriculture and Technology in Pantnagar , DIIT in Biochemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and PhD in Biochemistry from the Australian National University in Canberra . He did his postdoctoral research at CSIRO Molecular Sciences in Sydney .
BIOCON APPOINTS SURESH SUBRAMANIAN AS HEAD OF BRANDED FORMULATIONS ( INDIA ) BUSINESS
Mr Suresh Subramanian has been appointed as Senior Vice President and Head of the Biocon ' s Branded Formulations ( India ) business . Suresh has over 30 years of experience in the pharmaceuticals market , having worked in India and Thailand for MNCs such as GlaxoSmithKline , Novartis , AstraZeneca and Pfizer . Over the years , he has played multiple leadership roles in Business Development , Marketing , Sales and Strategy . He has a rich experience of multiple product launches , business optimization , cost control , talent development and performance management . He has also played a critical role in mapping the pharma opportunity in India as part of the Steering Committee for McKinsey ‘ s India Pharma 2020 report .

GSK CONSUMER HEALTHCARE APPOINTS RAJ KHEMANI AS THE IT LEAD
GSK Consumer Healthcare has announced the appointment of Mr Raj Khemani as the IT Lead , ISC on
September 18 , 2016 . Raj will be a member of the India Leadership Team and will be based in Gurgaon . Raj joins GSK from Clariant India where he was the Vice President , IT , managing information security strategy , SAP processes and leveraging them for business .
Raj ’ s earlier role was at Bristol-Myers Squibb , where he was the IT Head & Information Security Lead for Asia Pacific & Japan . Prior to this , he was with Pfizer where he was managing the business technology processes . He also had stints with Microsoft and Ranbaxy in the capacity of Technical Lead and Project Lead respectively . Raj has a degree in Business Data Processing and Economics from Delhi University .
