They have developed a variety of products like pheromone traps, chromatic traps, fly traps and many more. Waste management is another big problem that India is facing today. About one lakh metric tonnes of solid waste is generated across the country everyday (1 metric tonne= 1000 kilograms). This number is huge and way higher than many countries’ total waste generated. Also there is no proper waste segregation, which leads to inefficient waste management. Plastic waste is a humongous problem that whole world is facing. To give an example on how new start-ups are making their mark, the Envigreen is an extremely innovative start-up which has cracked this problem by coming up with a revolutionary product- Envigreen bags which are made up of natural starch and vegetable oil derivatives. They look like plastic bag, but there is zero proportion of plastic in it. These bags are thus edible and cause no harm if ingested, especially by animals. This can be solution to menace caused due to plastic waste. Thousands of such start-ups have emerged in our country which has provided elegant solutions to some of the problems. They are the excellent examples of how innovative thinking can lead to wonders. Ministry of commerce and industry, government of India have started a very attractive start- up scheme called #startupindia- If you have an innovative solution to a problem, your company would be provided necessary funds and infrastructure. So if you think that you have a solution to a problem, you can pitch your idea to get the funds. One just has to think slightly out of the box.
