BimROCK Magazine Issue #7 HE - Page 7

EDITOR’S note Every month BimROCK Magazine throws some punches. We bravely pursue the cream of the crop of Barbadian talent, request a peep into their professional lives and serve up multi-dimensional features to our faithful audience. Truth be told, it can be nerve-racking. There’s no guarantee that someone might want to be featured in our publication. That coupled with hectic schedules and unique personalities, only God knows what we are getting in to. As we all know, public personas and personal character aren’t always one and the same. Each person you’ve read about in our previous issues has been wonderful to work with. Humble, fun, insightful and gracious – they have made our pursuits that much easier and the results on point. We’ve aimed for a sensual bass note for our HE issue. Our cover is the socially conscious, creatively adept and thought-provoking spoken word maestro Adrian Green. He is someone who inspired me from our first meeting when we were both teens. Chef Dane Saddler aka the Slim Chef (I’ve renamed him the Boney Man) reinterprets the food of our elders with his take on traditional strong man’s soup. We explore the spiritual beauty of Joel Brooks and his music, while Jonathan Reid shares about his passion for fashion, and DJ Ras rocked the party with his recent Ikini Beach Party birthday celebration. I’m feeling good about this one. It’s raining men! Can I get a hallelujah? Rachelle Gray Editor-in-Chief EDITIOR | BIM ROCK | 7
