CON UNA VISIÓN ÚNICA, LA ARQUITECTA HUMANISTA ENFOCA SU PROFE-
SIÓN MÁS ALLÁ DEL DISEÑO PARA TRABAJAR CON LAS COMUNIDADES
Años de práctica e invenciones nos harían
imaginar de la arquitectura una profesión
en la que quedan pocas cosas por descu-
brir, sin embargo, profesionales como Ro-
zana Montiel son la expresión de qué nada
está más lejos de la realidad. Esta arquitec-
ta mexicana es, hoy en día, una pionera en
su campo de investigación tanto en nues-
tro país como más allá de sus fronteras.
Enfocada en la experimentación arqui-
tectónica, Montiel se ha dedicado a la
re-conceptualización artística del espacio
y dominio público, con una visión única
debido a la conciencia social que caracte-
riza todos sus proyectos. Ninguno de sus
diseños es igual, pues la estrategia de la
arquitecta es única, con la misión de crear
espacios de interrelación humana que
respeten y cultiven la identidad de la co-
munidad. Desde esa perspectiva, Montiel
cultiva la interacción de sitios, sujetos y
objetos, siempre buscando resolver o me-
jorar los problemas de habitabilidad o fal-
ta de recursos que enfrentan países como
México.
Su visión casi fantástica le ha permitido
romper las barreras de la arquitectura con
proyectos que van de la ciudad al micro
objeto, y le han llevado a reconocimientos
como el Overall Award, el Moira Gem-
mill Award y el Premio Emerging Voices,
por instituciones de arquitectura mun-
dialmente reconocidas. Recientemente,
fue la única mexicana invitada de forma
individual a la Bienal de Arquitectura de
Venecia, un espacio para compartir y di-
fundir su visión, integrando urbanismo y
sociedad en la arquitectura del futuro

she was the only Mexican at the Architecture Biennale di Venezia, the perfect stage
to share her vision that integrates urbanism and society for the future of architecture.
