UN ARTISTA QUE HA CONSTRUIDO UN UNIVERSO LLENO DE
MAGIA, MÍSTICA E HISTORIA, CUESTIONANDO SIN PROPO-
NÉRSELO AQUELLO QUE ANIDA EN EL ALMA DEL SER HUMANO
Si bien siempre ha rechazado el título de fotógrafo, es ese el
campo que ha situado al artista español en la escena inmi-
nente. Creativo y liberador, empezó como escultor en Bellas
Artes y terminó en la fotografía casi por accidente. Fue en su
pasión por el relato donde encontró la inspiración necesaria
para hacer realidad los proyectos que han abierto la puerta
del reconocimiento a su trabajo. Centrándose en temas so-
bre el amor, el odio, la existencia humana y la religión, la
carrera del fotógrafo español empezó con un revuelo a causa
de su interpretación de la iconografía católica. Sin embargo,
con el tiempo su fotografía escénica se ha vuelto un motivo
de admiración para muchos, y el mismo artista ha logrado
asegurar que su arte es su medio de comunicación y expre-
sión, no un arma que busca polemizar a la sociedad.
Cual director de cine, Bayona dirige a un equipo que le
ayuda a montar las escenas proyectadas desde su mente. Sin
embargo, su verdadero peso está en la asombrosa manera
de manejar la luz dentro de su propia fotografía. Como es-
cultor, el artista define su experiencia como la capacidad de
moldear la luz a su gusto y es que, a pesar de la falta de cono-
cimiento técnico que otros fotógrafos de su mismo estatus
tienen, Bayona siempre logra el resultado que espera.

larizing weapon. Bayona, like a film director, leads a team that helps him stage the
scenes in his mind. Nevertheless, his true value lies in his treatment of light in his
