El arte de Smith surgió de su educación dentro de las esferas del minima-
lismo y el arte abstracto. Forjó un camino único dentro del arte feminista,
concentrándose en la figura humana cuando la abstracción y el performance
fueron más populares. Sus obras pueden entenderse en una multiplicidad
de niveles: como figuras naturalistas muy detalladas, exploración de figuras
superpuestas de diferentes mitologías y religiones, o como un diálogo femi-
nista que inspira la auto aceptación.
Smith's art emerged from her upbringing within the spheres of Minimalism and abstract art.
She forged a unique path within Feminist art, concentrating on the human figure when ab-
straction and Performance art were more popular. Her artworks may be understood on a mul-
tiplicity of levels - as highly detailed naturalistic figures, exploration of overlapping figures
from different mythologies and religions, or as feminist dialogue inspiring self-acceptance.
