LA VERSIÓN MODERNA DE LA LEYENDA
DE LOS RELOJES DE BUCEO, ENALTECE LA

Desarrollado en 1953 por dos buzos militares franceses, el
Blancpain Fifty Fathoms fue entonces el perfecto reloj ro-
busto y funcional para sus peligrosas misiones submarinas.
Considerado como el arquetipo del reloj de buceo definió,
junto con el Submariner, la categoría: un reloj fuerte, alta-
mente legible, resistente al agua a grandes profundidades
(91 metros, en este caso) y equipado con un bisel giratorio
unidireccional para inmersiones en el tiempo. Los atributos
técnicos y estéticos que lo han caracterizado desde su apari-
ción fueron rediseñados y completados en 2007 con un ca-
lendario, sin que se viera afectado el peculiar adn del mo-
delo. Así, la versión moderna del icónico reloj es el digno
descendiente y transcurridos más de 60 años, el modelo más
emblemático, Fifty Fathoms Automatique 5015 se presenta
con todas las especificaciones similares a las del modelo de
acero, pero ahora en una versión que marida sus tonalidades
de ébano con una caja de titanio satinado. Siendo fuerte,
hipoalergénico y resistente a la corrosión, el titanio es un
material ideal para los observadores de campo y los bucea-
dores, de igual forma, ofrece una mayor comodidad a pesar
del diámetro de 45 mm. La legibilidad de sus marcadores es
posible gracias a la Super-LumiNova que facilita la lectura
de los tiempos de buceo incluso en las aguas más oscuras.
Este reloj es el ejemplo perfecto de la tradición de innova-
ción que la marca ha sabido desarrollar desde los primeros

ty Fathoms was developed in 1953 by two French military divers and was the
perfect combination of robust and functional for their dangerous subaquatic
missions. It was considered – along with the Submariner – the archetype of
a diving watch: a strong and highly readable watch with a unidirectional
rotating bezel and water-resistant at great depths (91 meters in this case) for
dives in time. Its technical and aesthetics features were completed in 2007
with the addition of a calendar without affecting its original DNA. Thus, the

new version of this iconic watch, the Fifty Fathoms Automatique 5015, is
a worthy successor after more than 60 years of history. It includes all the
emblematic specifications of the steel version but in an ebony shade with a
glossy titanium case. Titanium is the perfect material for field observers and
divers, it´s strong, hypoallergenic and corrosion-resistant, it also offers great-
er comfort despite its 45mm diameter. Its Super-LumiNova-filled markers
facilitate the reading of dive times even in the darkest waters. This watch is
the perfect example of the innovative tradition this firm has developed from
the very first watches created in the 18th Century. Great savoir-faire.
