director creativo Christopher Bailey, quien

known for our favorite seasonal garment: their elegant trench coats. However,
the history behind the famous piece has become attractive beyond its appealing
cut and iconic “D” metal rings. Looking back in time, we find out the name trench
coat comes from the technology Thomas Burberry invented for his countrymen
fighting in the trenches of WWI. It became the first western piece of clothing that
allowed a coat to be waterproof and breathable at the same time. The Burberry

trademark was the first to reach the South Pole and became the army´s official
coat. After the war, the trench coat became a real British success and a must for
every Londoner braving the outdoors without an umbrella. Muses such as Kate
Moss in the 90s or Emma Watson and Cara Delevigne in the 2000s have brought
the Burberry trench closer to the young and urban audience, creating an identity
of English luxury mixed with rock & roll. Christopher Bailey was the first creative
director to take the brand to the runways with creativity and sophistication. How-
ever, the Tisci era began last year for Burberry with a new logo and a spirit of
modernity mixed with British tradition. Success won´t take long to arrive.
