GALLERIES MARATHON BIRDS AND THEIR EARTHBOUND COMPANIONS - “These images feature live wild birds captured during biological surveys in Texas, photographed on site and against textile backdrops, and then released. They are part of a portfolio call “Birds and Their Earthbound Companions”, an ongoing project to photograph wild animals in hand and on release. Most of the animals are tagged, marked or banded as conscripted participants in studies on behavior, species, and habitat. To photograph them, I accompany biologists into the field with my equipment and a small, portable set with a series of backdrops.” - E.
