Project-Based Learning (PBL) is a newer type of teaching and learning strategy. Colleagues are asked to participate anonymously in this study, with the hopes that the feedback will be authentic and honest. Ultimately, I want to gain an understanding of how educators in my building, fifth thru eighth grade, view project-based learning and whether or not they are interested in utilizing this instructional method in their classrooms. Our administration has been working on informing and encouraging our staff in the project-based learning department.

There are three parts to my research assignment: an initial survey, lesson plan/website evaluation, and a final survey. These parts will be analyzed to determine the current state of professional development that has been offered to our staff and what they feel they need to be successful. After reading many articles, many teachers feel overwhelmed, unsupported, and struggle with the transition from lecturer to facilitator. To help my colleagues, I developed a website to compile one grade level inquiry-based assignment which includes standards from each core content area.
