BGSU Classroom Technology E-Mag Summer 2018 | Page 29

After the four assessments, I looked at the data collected by all six classes and saw the percentage increase from the beginning of the school year to the end of the school year. I compared the three classes that incorporated tablets and the three classes that did not incorporate the tablets. I also looked at the survey completed by the students and teachers based off of PuppetPals to see if that particular app is worth keeping for the future

Looking at my data, comparing the first assessment to the last assessment there was a 45.3% difference between the two groups. The group that used tablets to practice literacy skills throughout the year had the higher percentage overall than the group that did not use the tablets for literacy purposes. My results showed a huge advantage in using technology to incorporate extra practice in literacy skills throughout the school year. I would be interested to see this study done again with other students performing these assessments to compare to my results.

After seeing my results and researching other studies about integrating technology in the classrooms, I am definitely going to use more technology in my classroom practices in the future.
