The Flipped Classroom in the Co-taught Setting BY MAX ZENKER The results were fantastic!  The students that participated in the flipped style classroom not only felt more confident but performed better on the summative assessment for the unit.  The average grade for these students was an 87%, while the students in the typical classroom scored around a 79% for the unit.  The trial of the response clickers was also very successful because it allowed me to teach mini-lessons with small groups to go over skills they may have missed.   In conclusion, we were very happy with the data that we were able to collect, and we would like to continue with the flipped style classroom in the future within math.  I think it can work, as long as you get buy-in from the students involved.  Also, the students need to have access to technology at home in order to watch the videos and take notes.  I wouldn’t suggest using this style classroom with much younger populations of students.  I think 6th grade may be the lowest age I would go with this moving forward.  The students involved worked very hard and made us very proud, and I hope they continue to share their experiences moving forward, as I am excited to share my own!      SOARING TO NEW HEIGHTS: STUDENTS TAKING INITIATIVE AND  RESPONSIBILITY FOR LEARNING
