First in Family to Graduate
Rebekkah Present Day
My last semester in college is keeping me very busy. Along with
school, I have been actively looking for a job so I can start my career
after graduating in May. I can’t believe graduation is just around the
corner and in a few short weeks, I will be the first person in my family
to graduate from college. I often find myself thinking how my eightyear-old self would react if she were told that one day she would
graduate from Baylor University. I imagine first she would ask “What
is Baylor?” She still wouldn’t believe she was
going to graduate from college! The person I

have become today and the things I have
accomplished I owe to Boys and Girls
Country and its supporters. Going forward,
I plan to give back to Boys and Girls Country
in any way I can.

Kid’s Corner
A Staff Kid’s Perspective
Hello everybody. My name is Noah. I am a senior at Waller
High School. I’m very involved at school and participate
in theatre, Cross Country track, UIL academics, Bulldog
Broadcasting, and I am a member of the Fellowship of
Christian Athletes. I attend The Metropolitan Baptist
Church in Cypress where I teach a small group of sixth and
seventh graders. Many, if not all, of these activities would
not have been possible without Boys and Girls Country.
My family and I moved here nearly seven years ago,
originally into Cottage One. Boy, was I scared having to live
in a house full of 11 women. Then we took a 180 degree
turn and moved into Cottage Eight. There, I became the
older brother to eight boys. I’m not sure who was more of
a handful.
My time here at Boys and Girls Country has allowed me to
learn many things. Patience towards others is high on the
list. Most importantly, what I have learned at Boys and
Girls Country is tha
