Honoring: John and Lisa Walker
John B. Walker, Chief Executive Officer of EnerVest, Ltd., is a leader in the
energy industry and in the Houston community. He has received numerous
awards for his work in the oil and gas sector, and most recently was named
the 2015 EY Entrepreneur of the Year. A proud Red Raider, John served on
the Board of Regents of the Texas Tech University System. Service is a family
affair for John and Lisa, his wife of 28 years, who have left a legacy of involvement in philanthropy locally and internationally. John and Lisa, who have
three children and two grandchildren, have hearts for youth and for giving
back, which shows in everything they do both locally and internationally.
Together, John and Lisa are active in their church, where John has served on
the Board of Stewards and Lisa is a sign-language interpreter for a Sunday
service. John is active with the Sam Houston Area Council of the Boy Scouts
of America, where he served as the Chairman of the Board and received the
Distinguished Eagle in 2007. John and Lisa have left a legacy of involvement
in philanthropy through their family, each of whom are active in numerous
causes based in Houston and its surrounding areas. We are proud to honor
them for their dedication to children in need in our community.
Entertainment: Jeff Foxworthy
Jeff Foxworthy is one of the most respected comedians in the country.
He’s the largest-selling comedy-recording artist, a multiple Grammy Award
nominee, and bestselling author of more than 26 books. He hosted season
three of the popular game show American Bible Challenge and was part
of one of the most successful comedy tours of all time, The Blue Collar
Comedy Tour. Born and raised in Atlanta, Foxworthy worked hard to
be a great comedian and is still working hard. But he will tell you
he is just a guy, so don’t be mad if his jokes are better than
yours.
