Tai Chi can relieve pain , increase range of motion and improve quality of life . Recommended for arthritis and fall prevention , Tai Chi is suitable for most physical conditions and can be done sitting

You ' re Invited ! Jewish Family and Children ’ s Services of Minneapolis will host their 18th Annual Mental Health conference titled Hope , Humor , and Healing : Finding Light in Dark Places on Sunday , October 21 , 10:00-4:00 pm at Temple Israel , 2323 Fremont Ave S , Minneapolis MN . This conference is free and open to the public . Keynote speaker will be John Moe , host of the podcast , The Hilarious World of Depression and Mental Health Connect program director Gretchen Porter will present about Mental Health Connect .
Monday Night Mental Health Speaker Series
Every second Monday , sessions begin with a light supper at 5:45 pm , followed by the program from 6:30 – 8:00 pm . A Certificate of Attendance ( CEU ) for 1.5 hours is available for the education presentations attended by mental health professionals and students . This event is free .
Program year runs from September to June with a break in December .
September 10 — What is Trauma ? at St . Joan of Arc Defining trauma , prevalence , types of trauma ( single vs . complex ), traumatic event examples . Speaker : Bret Schneider , Ph . October 8 — Intro to STAR Training at Bethlehem Twin Cities- Minneapolis Best practices for understanding and responding to individual and community psychological trauma . Speaker : Donna Minter , Ph . D ., LP , Minnesota Peacebuilding Leadership Institute November 12 — Adverse Childhood Experiences at St . Joan of Arc Understanding the impact of adverse childhood experiences and resilience , how ACEs contribute to health complications and can affect our adult lives , and the research on ACEs and the importance of resilience . Caregiver Series
Register through Minnesota Stroke Association at 612.378.2742 . Meet on the third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 pm in Langemo , Minneaoplis campus . The series runs from September 2018-June 2019 with a break in December .
