Domain 8: Developing and Maintaining Community, Educational and Pathways Linkages A range of programs were developed during 2010 that provided students at both campuses with the opportunity to access community facilities. Fitness program 10 students at the Morwell campus undertook a Pre-vocational course in welding with GippsTAFE. This partnership programs has enabled students to learn new skills with their peers in welding at TAFE. In 2010, a new collaboration began with the Endeavour Hills Leisure Centre and the Noble Park campus. Groups of students participated in a fitness and a gymnastics program. This has offered the obvious benefits of increased fitness, and has also assisted in the development of social skills and community connection. The programs were supported financially by Berry Street sponsors, and we are grateful for their assistance. Job Skills Textiles Program In July, Students at the Morwell campus participated in the Job Skills Expo at Lardner Park. This annual exhibition brings students from across Gippsland together with over 100 trade exhibitors who demonstrate practical applications of their trades. Similarly donors supported the development of a textiles program by purchasing sewing machines and an overlocker. These have had great use by the students who have made dresses, pyjamas, hoodies, soft toys and bags. They are very proud of their achievements. Pathways to Welding Program
