Our Board of Directors takes very seriously its responsibility for good governance and stewardship of Berry Street ’ s resources and reputation , and setting key strategic directions .
Berry Street is very fortunate in the calibre and commitment of its Board of Directors . Child Psychiatrist , Dr David Mushin , joined the Board in 2012 . All Directors completed the annual Register of Interests and the Statement of Good Character was completed by new members . Bill Scales , AO , and Fran Thorn ( former Secretary Department of Health ) provided input to the annual Board / Executive Management Team Workshop .
Within the framework of the 2010-2013 Strategic Plan , two reports were provided to the Board in June and December on our ambitious 2011 / 12 Business Plan . Of the 52 strategies , 22 were fully achieved , 18 partly achieved and for 12 there was no progress , due to competing priorities .
Operational and Infrastructure reviews were undertaken , quality and risk management reporting improved and policies and procedures on governance and responding to allegations of past abuse were reviewed .
Our Executive Management Team and Senior Managers ’ group met twice and the Executive Management Team underwent an upward feedback process .
