8 • Continued support of Aboriginal community controlled organisations to understand the impact of trauma and providing Yarning up on Trauma training in South Australia, Western Australia and in the Northern Territory, as well as twelve Indigenous communities in Victoria. • Playing a leadership role in sector advocacy around:- a new Family Services price; the Australian Services Union Pay Equity Case and the portability of long service leave; integrated standards; proposed new National Standards in Out of Home Care; and the charter of rights for children and young people in Out of Home Care. • Bringing out Clark Baim from the UK to celebrate the work of the late Tony Morrison and present on attachment, and working with people with violent and abusive behaviour. • Our partnership with The Pavilion School being recognised with a NAB Schools First Impact Award. • Providing learning labs for child protection staff and training in therapeutic residential care in partnership with Westcare. • Leading the development of a guide for the Child Safety Commissioner to help people understand how to work with traumatised children and young people. • Helping to develop and then teach the new Graduate Certificate and Diploma in Child and Family Practice Leadership. • Being the keynote speaker for the annual gathering of residential workers from across Victoria. • Hosting visitors from Macau, the University of Washington and Washington Institute. We also wrote public policy submissions relating to:- National Standards in Out of Home Care; improving access to education; the Ombudsman’s review of Out of Home Care; the Victorian Drugs and Crime Prevention Committee on Young People Offending; family violence; and Child Protection Reform. We carried out a number of internal research and evaluation projects, including:- our Home Based Care program in the South East; the Health and Wellbeing Program in the North & West; the Darwin Experience and Annual Foster Care Camp; Police Responses to Breaches of Intervention Orders in the North & West; our education program in the South East; and we participated in another nine external projects.
