the foundation of being a successful organisation
Despite the Global Financial Crisis, we still achieved
a positive financial result.
While we place considerable effort on rigorous
financial management, this could not have been
achieved without:• Funding we receive from the State and Federal
Governments.
• Support from philanthropic foundations,
businesses, community groups and schools.
• Bequests and individual donations.
Ensuring we have the right infrastructure for our
growing services is a constant challenge.
• We sold our Eltham and Heidelberg offices and
brought the majority of our North & West services
together in a leased office in Eaglemont.

• Our new Alexandra office was opened by Minister
Lisa Neville in July 2009 and we leased additional
space in Seymour.
• Two new residential units were opened, four
relocated and three contingency units were
established.
• Our fleet increased to 301 vehicles, of which 85%
were 4 cylinders.
• Our IT capability was strengthened with the use of
the Macquarie Data Centre, upgrading of computers
and servers.
• Following a procurement review, a new position of
Procurement Systems Co-ordinator was created
and achieved significant savings and efficiencies.
