Our Selina Sutherland Outstanding Volunteer Award
Was presented to:• Peter and Pat McNally – who are exceptional foster
carers in our Hume region.
• Val Freeland – who is a dedicated volunteer at our
central office.
• 66% of our staff completed our second Employee
Opinion Survey (EOS). Pleasingly:
o 99% of respondents believe their jobs are
worthwhile.
o 97% said they were aware of our Values and see
them applied in our work.
o 94% would recommend Berry Street as a good
place to work.
Our Deb Kearsey Outstanding Staff Award
o 92% report that their team regularly laughs and
enjoys each other’s company.
Nominated by staff, this award was shared between:-
o 79% believe they have a good work/life balance.
• Annette Jackson – Knowledge Manager with
Take Two.
• Glenda Budge – Administration Officer with
our North and West Region.
Our Early Career Award
Was presented to Dr Yasmin Baliz, a neuropsychologist
with Take Two.
• Our new Electronic Reporting of Incidents & NearMisses (ERIN) data base captures all incidents and
has improved our capacity to analyse this important
information.
• Our WorkCover premium was 2.65% of
remuneration (which compares with over 6% in
2005/06) and is better than the sector average.
This is an excellent result, given our client mix
means we carry greater risk than many other
organisations in the same category.
• 10.5% of staff and foster carers accessed our
Employee Assistance and Carer Assistance
programs (which entitle the person or family
member to 3 free counselling sessions).
