Promoting financial inclusion for all
With the increased costs of rental housing , many people struggle to meet the basic needs of food , clothing , health care and education .
Financial counselling may assist in helping people manage their budget and develop a plan to manage debt .
We provided financial counselling to 529 people in the North and West region . Although we are not a big distributor of emergency relief , we did assist 644 people .
Through our partnership with the ANZ Bank , the Brotherhood of St . Laurence , the Benevolent Society and the Smith Family , we ran over 200 workshops on financial literacy and trained another 30 people to deliver the MoneyMinded program . In partnership with a number of Aboriginal organisations , we also ran a specific program for 54 Aboriginal people .
350 people were enrolled and supported in the matched savings program , Saver Plus . It is terrific to see how people ’ s confidence grows when they successfully meet their savings goal and have that matched by the ANZ .
