Classic songs such as Crosseyed and Painless, Once in a Lifetime and Born Under Punches (The Heat Goes On) have been given an even more distinctive sound of the West African music that Kidjo has always promoted, combined with elements of R&B and funk, and are performed with a force and musicality that directly touches 07 2 the heart. Joining her on stage are a driving and explosive band. Angélique Kidjo has a powerful voice that she also uses in the conveyed sense, in her political commitment to Africa’s present and future.
