Warm Winter Wonderland

Winter - you can look good in layers. Magic word being layers, those keep you warm.
I love that clip from the movie, "Cool Runnings". Now some of us would have gone from snow to beach, and that going to Canada we would have known to pack a real coat. But there are those that have never seen snow so this would be a story you might want to hold onto if you are one of the Cool Running guys. This story is to help those that own a coat and use them every year.
Go to your closet, grab all your coats. Some of you live in areas where it is cold from Oct/Nov to April/May, and like sweaters and jeans you have a number of them. Coats are something that you never realize you have that many until you get them all out. Now lay them in order of age. DAMN! Is that one from the 50's?
So get them out, line them up and get in front of the mirror, put them on. Do you still look cute, does it still fit? If not or you haven't worn in years, donate them. Donate your old coats. There are people out there that can't afford new coats. You don't need a closet full of them. There are all kinds of places to take your coats that you don't wear anymore. And it's coming up winter. Find your local "WINTER COAT DRIVE".
Now you have cleared your closet out of the old coats, it's time to look at the new.
One - if you are a person that likes to think of themselves as fluffy... DON'T GET THAT CUTE DOWN COAT. Extra fluff is not cute (you are a person not a chicken). But a straight coat with sexy fur collar would make you look thinner and enhance the fact that the skinny girl next you to at the bus stop is blue cause she has no body fat.
Two - you can add layers to help stay warm. Try using a scarf, and play with it, scarfs can be fun. Scarfs are easy to store for the winter and some can even be used during the summer. People we have strayed from the fun that a scarf can bring to your outfit. So drag out your scarfs and play with your colors.
Three - hats, sweetie you will look way cuter with hat hair to the sexy guy in the office, than you will with a red nose and coughing your lungs out in his face. Take the chance and wear a hat.
Four - Gloves or mittens, those are your choice. Some people like to have their fingers others don't mind just as long as they are warm. And that is the magic word here this winter is warm. Be cute but be able to hold your coffee.
Now with each of the layers listed above you should remember that you can play with your colors. So if you miss summer then wear summer colors. If you love winter then wear winter colors. But don't go all in one, there are lots of colors and the 60 (pants, shirt, coat), 30(scarf, gloves, hat, shoes, socks), 10 (jewelry, gloves, shoes, socks, hat, hair tie) rule should always apply when you are trying to look your best, when you layer remember this. 60 % should be your main color, then add 30% of a different color. Your 10% should be a dash of another. These colors will help you look fresh and smart but keep you
warm. Face the day and the cute guy
in the office without a cold, as you
strut in with your cup of coffee.
