6 Steps To Creating A Tassel Necklace
If you've ever felt like you need a degree in
fashion to pick the "right" necklace, we have
the perfect DIY for you. This chain tassel
necklace works with a casual T-shirt or a
polished suit. It pairs with silver jewelry just
as well as gold. And you can wear it as a
pendant or loop it to make a shorter necklace.

Supplies:
Gunmetal cable chain
About 24 inches of small link gold chain
A roughly 6-inch piece of small gunmetal chain
Short piece of embroidery thread, any color
E-6000 glue
Jewelry pliers with wire cutter
2 jump rings
Toggle clasp
Instructions:
1. Cut 2 pieces of the gunmetal cable chain, each 31 inches long. Set aside. Take the gold chain and wrap it several times around your hand to make a tassel.
2. Put the 2 long pieces of chain together lengthwise and find the center. Slide the gold chain loop off your hand and fold it over the center of the chain pieces.
3. Using a small piece of embroidery thread, tie a knot at the top of the chain tassel.
4. Cut the end pieces of the gold chain with your jewelry pliers.
5. Wrap the top of the chain tassel with the small dark silver chain, covering the embroidery thread. Glue the ends in place with E-6000. Let it sit overnight to dry.
6. Using your jewelry pliers, open the 2 jump rings and attach the toggle clasp to the ends of the necklace. If you prefer to just put the necklace over your head and not use a clasp, you can instead join the 4 ends of chain together with a jump ring.
