Finally there is what is referred to as Inheriting. A 3D modeler (creator) can import their models and set them to allow others to retexture them. When a painter retextures the model and posts it in the catalogue they are not only forced to use their own textures (textures are stripped from the model in the editor when inheriting) but both the creator and the painter make income from every sale. There is only one down line, the creator to the painter. It does not go any further. This encourages creators to feel more secure in allowing others to retexture their work and generates income for both user developers.
HOUSING AND DECORATING
There are two types of housing in NuVO, private and public. In private housing you can own as many environments as you wish to. You can even make alternative variations of these areas by saving them as layouts and changing the skybox (this is an actual skybox that adjusts to all environment sizes), altering the real time lighting (users have full control over the sunlight, ambient light and fog in their areas), and of course decorating it differently. Private homes are RENT FREE. You buy it, you own it. Period.
Public areas do have a weekly fee to rent the space to add it to the public area list. Public areas are created by decorating your private environment and then posting up as open to other users. Public areas allow you to have moderators that can be set to have limited abilities or nearly all access (some limitations, such as removing it from the listing, is not permitted by moderators). Access by moderators includes being able to manage the media (video or streaming radio), decorating privileges, booting others and even allowing them access to your personal inventory to use the items you own to help you decorate (limited to only the public area they are moderating).
Whether you are in a public or a private area you can add streaming videos from YouTube.com or streaming radio from your favorite online radio stations or websites like Shoutcast.com. This is built into the NuVO system and can be accessed in any private or public area you own or moderate. This is great for DJs as they can get access to public areas as a moderator and set up the station they are streaming from to play during events. There is no extra fee for this option.
NuVO MARKET
Some of the other things available in NuVera Online are handy for both developers and users alike. These are available in the NuVO Market (the shopping cart icon in world). The NuVO Market are specialty items that are not user created. The Market is separate from the User Developer Catalogue and is the only place to buy items with TT’s.
Mannequins - these can be used in your private or public area to dress up and checkout outfits, animations and accessories with before you purchase them. Once you find something you like just right click and purchase, wish list or gift the item you chose. This is a great tool for developers to show off their wares in their shops as well and makes it very easy for users to buy off the rack, so to speak.
Telepads - Telepads can be set up in your private or public areas that will teleport you to any public area that is open to the public. They look pretty awesome and allow shop owners to create sales hunts or role players to create different zones that can be accessed to expand their area out even more. There are many reasons you may find for using the telepads and they are readily available in the NuVO Market.
Signs - There are currently three signs available in the market for you to purchase. Once placed you right click to manage it and you can post any notice you like to the users entering your area. This can be a fun way to do a walk through experience or just to announce rules for your public area.
Sales Terminals - Want to promote your own products and don’t want to have to place each piece down? Perhaps you have a favorite developer and you want to promote their products. Maybe you own a club and want people to have quick access to dances they can use. Whatever the reason you may have sales terminals are fabulous. They hold up to 20 products and allow users to buy, wish list or gift items all in one spot.
Gift Boxes - Gift boxes are a specific item for user developers to offer an item for free to users coming in to their shop. Only the developer that made the product can offer the item for free so there is no worries about others giving things away that don’t belong to them.
