There are many schools of thought on deco in clubs. We will look at three examples and give the reader a tip or two from the Club Owners/Decorators perspective.

How important is deco to a clubs successful operation? According to Mistres_Sinn of Madam Leena’s Barbary Coast Bitches (The Coast) it is 50 or 60%. If people don’t find something they like they will not return. If deco doesn’t blend well people will not come back so thinking on it 50%. So, there is an eye-appeal factor? The other 50% is club personality. If girl’s talk makes them feel at ease they will come back.

DJ_BIGTEX_CML, Owner/Operator & Decorator at Club Stallion, feels that the deco has to be real and life like , like a club you would go to in real life , this gives the club a comfort to all that come in.

Marylin_Hunter, Deco Coordinator of The Cage stated that deco is very important as it will many the customer/client feel welcomed.

When asked, “There are different styles and schools of thought on club deco. How would you characterize your style?

Mistres_Sinn smiled and said she was very big on colors, as the reader can see from the above picture.

Mistres_Sinn added, “As you see I don’t do … but can do … dark and we have a design/deco show room.

We have showroom for sex-machines.” We will save that for another story.... but good to know.

Marylin_Hunter of The Cage, called her deco style, “warm and loving and friendly.”

DJ_BIGTEX_CML, of Club Stallion quickly asserted, “My style is Country, most successful Country clubs keep it country.

The final question asked for any thoughts on deco in clubs that Sinn, Marylin or BigTex would like to stress for a new club owner? The responses were remarkably similar.

Mistres_Sinn of The Coast stated that deco just must blend and any new things or pictures are always good (Variety). She continued, “If you copy from someone else it’s not good. I make 95% of my own textures.”

DJ_BIGTEX_CML of Club Stallion felt, “New club owners should keep it simple, but keep it real, no one likes a copycat club. Have you own original style; don't use what someone else uses. Clients can see that at their regular club. However, all in all its the people who make the club successful, and the DJs you use.”

Marylin_Hunter of The Cage boiled it all down to “be original, start small and grow.”

Her work speaks for itself. In the final analysis aspiring new club owners operators must be original, creative, welcoming and focused. Sounds like the recipe for success. Next: Management Styles
