CALLING YOUNG
FILM CRITICS
THE OSCARS ARE OVER FOR ANOTHER
YEAR
BUT ... NOW COMES YOUR CHANCE
TO BE ON THE CINEMAGIC DUBLIN
FILM JURY ‘CINEFOCUS’ AND CHOOSE
THE WINNERS.
So you might have watched the
Oscars or the BAFTAs or any
of the many awards ceremonies
on TV recently and wondered
what it would be like to be on a
film jury and decide who wins.
Well now you can. The Dublin
Cinemagic International Film
and Television Festival for Young
People is back and is recruiting
film critic jury panels of 12-18
year olds from all over Ireland to
watch and judge a series of films
from around the world during
the Festival on Saturday 21st and
Sunday 22nd May.
The jury will meet in Cineworld
Cinemas Parnell Street where
they will enjoy a feast of film,
learn how to review and critique,
and choose the winning films of
the weekend. Meet other young
film fans with a passion for film
and learn about the role of the
film critic.
The young film critics jury offers
young people the chance to meet
others with a similar passion
for film, to discuss and debate,
and to make new friends, whilst
expanding their understanding of
the different genres of film.
