Have you Considered
a Career in
Traditionally, Forestry is the art,
science, and practice of managing
forests and plantations. The forestry
and timber sector in Ireland includes
growing the forests, harvesting and
haulage, and the processing of the
various wood products. With its
climate and suitable soils, Ireland can
grow many tree species considerably
faster than its European neighbours
giving Ireland a strong comparative
advantage in the growing of wood
fibre. Forestry today has developed a
more technological focus with exciting
innovations improving the ways in
which we collect and manage data
enabling Coillte to becoming a market
leader worldwide in terms of Forest
Technology.
At Coillte we are passionate about our
core purpose to enrich lives locally,
nationally and globally through the
innovative and sustainable
management of natural resources.
We believe our employees play a
pivotal role in our purpose so we
employ talented people with an array
of different skills and expertise to
enable us to continue to grow and
innovate.
We encourage formal work
experience for a number of second
level students each year across our
entire forestry business areas. This
work experience gives students the
opportunity to experience what
work is like and explore options for
possible future careers.
