My time in Moate Business College
was exceptional. The lecturers are
incredibly helpful and are always
available for support and guidance. I
would like to give a special thanks to
the two Bernie’s (lecturers), to this
day I tell people how amazing both
of you and the other lecturing staff in
Moate were to me during my time in
the college.
Thanks to your help, expertise and
guidance, I completed the level 5 in
Nursing Studies. From there I
completed the Bachelors honors
degree in Social Care Practice and
finally a Masters in Child and Youth
Studies. I currently work for Tusla
Child and Family agency and I have
I originally studied Computer Studies
in Moate Business College in 2012,
at this time I was unsure what I
wanted to do as a career. After
completing this course, I went on to
work in two different jobs and
realised the real path I wanted to
take.
I wanted to become a Travel Agent
and my best step forward was to
complete the Tourism with Business
course. So, I returned to Moate in
September 2016 and studied the
QQI Level 6 Tourism with Business
Course. During this last year I have
learnt so much and have developed
myself personally and professionally.
I was also lucky enough to be
selected to take part in the Erasmus
30
applied for a PHD in Children
and Youth research to commence in
September 2018 in UCD.
I had the help I needed in Moate, I
had the guidance and support,
which in turn helped me develop as
a student and achieve things that
were once beyond my imagination.
So thank you Moate Business
College, for the amazing experience
and opportunity for growth and
development. If this sounds like what

Programme. I got to go to Italy and
experience a whole new culture.
How amazing is that?
With mandatory work experience I
got to work in a travel agency which
I still work in once a week. I know
now that this is the definitely the
path I want to take and I know I have
a bit to go before I’m fully qualified
but I wouldn’t have gotten this far
without the course I did here in
Moate Business College. My
confidence has grown as I know that
I can do anything I want once I work
hard and believe in myself. All this
could not of happened without the
help of my amazing tutors and I will
be ever so grateful.
