She also wanted to take up the option of doing Biopharm in her add on 4th year because of the huge growth in the Biopharmaceutical industry. “It is an industry that is expanding so rapidly and what we are learning from our lecturers is so related to industry.” NI Science Student Eadaoin Muckian Discusses Why She Chose DkIT 24 Now in her 4th year and studying Biopharmaceutical Science, Eadaoin Muckian (22) says Dundalk Institute of Technology has “such a good reputation.” Biopharm student Eadaoin Muckian says DkIT is “just as good as, if not better than the rest.’ She decided to choose it over the same course in Queen’s University, Belfast because of its proximity to her home in Silverbridge, county Armagh. “I love science and this was the first choice I put down. I was also accepted by Queen’s for this course but I rejected them and to come here because it is close to home, the course is identical and it is half the fees.” As part of her degree course the students went to NIBRT - the National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training in Dublin. It is a purpose-built, multi-functional building which replicates the most modern industrial bioprocessing facility. Eadaoin said, “is a bio processing training facility in Dublin.
