on 4th year because of the huge
growth in the Biopharmaceutical
industry.

rapidly and what we are learning
from our lecturers is so related to

Now in her 4th year and studying
Biopharmaceutical Science, Eadaoin
Muckian (22) says Dundalk Institute
of Technology has “such a good
reputation.”

as good as, if not
better than the
rest.’
She decided to choose it over the
same course in Queen’s University,
Belfast because of its proximity to
her home in Silverbridge, county
Armagh.
“I love science and this was the first
choice I put down. I was also
accepted by Queen’s for this course
but I rejected them and to come here
because it is close to home, the
course is identical and it is half the
fees.”
As part of her degree course the
students went to NIBRT - the
National Institute for Bioprocessing
Research and Training in Dublin.
It is a purpose-built, multi-functional
building which replicates the most
modern industrial bioprocessing
facility.
Eadaoin said, “is a bio processing
training facility in Dublin. Well-known
companies send their employees
there to get trained and when we
went there we were subjected to
same level of training.”
