February 7, 2016, in a blink of an eye my life changed drastically. On this night, I was involved in a head on collision that broke both of my femurs, lacerated my liver, small intestine and fractured the left side of my face. The front end of my car was pushed up on the lower part of my body restricting my legs or any movement. At this point, I can remember hearing the EMT's rushing around me and the fireman trying to free me from under the dash with the jaws of life (as they called it). I was then flown to UAB in Birmingham Alabama where I had to be diverted immediately and taken to the local hospital in my hometown, Tuscaloosa because I began to pass away from the amount of blood loss and shock my body was in.

As the doctors rushed me back into surgery to save my life, I had no idea what would lie ahead of me afterwards. After my first 9 hour surgery where they went in to stop the internal bleeding, the doctors placed me on a ventilator. The next night after my first surgery i then underwent my second surgery to fix both of my broken femurs. My left femur was a compound break and my right was completely crushed. I now have two rods in both of my legs. After both of my surgeries, I was in ICU for 2 weeks and on a ventilator for six days.
