CATHERINE DUNNE IN CONVERSATION WITH FEDERICA FERRIERI Award-winning Irish author Catherine Dunne will be in conversation with Italy’s Honorary Consul, Federica Ferrieri discussing the various madnesses of the writing life, the perils of translation and the challenges currently facing the humble book. Catherine, who was recently long-listed for the inaugural Laureate for Irish Fiction, is the author of ten novels and one work of social history; An Unconsidered People, which explores the lives of Irish immigrants in London in the 1950s. 7PM // £7 | £5 // CRESCENT ARTS THE LIFEBOAT Now a festival staple, The Lifeboat poetry readings return, this year featuring Rebecca Perry, Joey Connolly and Susannah Dickey. Rebecca Perry’s first collection Beauty/Beauty was published in 2015 and was shortlisted for the T. S. Eliot Prize. Her pamphlet, Little Armoured won the Poetry Wales Purple Moose Prize and was a Poetry Book Society Pamphlet Choice. She co-edits the online journal Poems In Which. Joey Connolly’s first collection Long Pass was published by Carcanet in 2017. He received an Eric Gregory award in 2012, and his poetry was featured in Carcanet’s New Poetries VI. He co-founded the poetry magazine Kaffeeklatsch. Susannah Dickey has just finished a BA in English with Creative Writing at Queen’s University Belfast.
