As October ushers in the scents and colours of Autumn, it seems nearly impossible to think the landscapes of our daily lives will soon be blanketed in the buffering, quiet of December snow.

Photogrpaher Peter Kelly knows exactly what it is about the colours and textures of winter that he is most compelled to photograph. In fact, he explains it best in his own words.

"My love affair with snow has been embedded in my psyche for as long as I can remember. When I was a kid, all I wanted to do, while the nastiest, windiest and coldest snowstorms raged outside, was to put on my snowsuit, wander through the pasture out back and find a spot where I could sit for a few minutes and let this raw powerful natural force engulf my body. It was empowering to face this awesome and sometimes destructive force under my own terms and stare it in the face.
