T
he hundreds in attendance at the 3rd annual dinner
of Kollel Tirtza Devorah held before the summer
were testimony to the high regard in which its
yungeleit – and mission – are held by a broad cross-
section of the Torah community.
The Kollel, founded in 2005 by a group of alumni, has a
profound impact on the yungeleit themselves – enabling them to
grow and learn on an advanced level – as well as on their families,
the talmidim of Yeshiva Darchei Torah, and the wider community.
The 40 full-time fellows and the 30 members of the afternoon
Kollel Mechanchim enhance the roaring kol Torah in the beis
medrash from morning until night and serve as role models for
their younger counterparts on campus.
Nearly all of the yungeleit of Kollel Tirtza Devorah have
settled in the vicinity of the Yeshiva, helping to revitalize once-
decaying neighborhoods. The alumni of the Kollel have gone
on to spread Torah, serve the Klal, and conduct their lives as
paradigmatic bnei Torah throughout the nation, from the local
Far Rockaway/Five Towns community to Phoenix, Arizona. !
