Growing Yeshiva Welcomes
New Rabbeim
Responding to the growth in student enrollment, Yeshiva Darchei Torah welcomed four
distinguished talmidei chachamim to the faculty this September, appointing supremely talented
rabbeim who are uniquely suited to the task of inspiring and teaching today’s talmidim.
RABBI AVROHOM BENDER has been appointed menahel of the third grade division of
the elementary school. A successful second grade rebbi at the Yeshiva since 2008, Reb
Avrohom has also been serving as s’gan menahel since 2012, a position in which he has
been involved in the day-to-day administration of the elementary school. A particular
focus of his has been tending to the educational, emotional and spiritual needs of
talmidim who come from challenging home environments. He plans to continue his
unwavering dedication to these children in add ition to his new responsibilities, which
will be focused on the limudei kodesh department of the third grade, now comprised
of seven parallel classes. A talmid of Rav Chaim Leib Epstein zt”l, the rosh yeshiva of
Zichron Meilech and Rav Elya Baruch Finkel zt”l of Yeshivas Mir Yerushalayim, Rabbi
Bender learned at Beth Medrash Govoha for nine years and is a graduate of Torah
Umesorah’s Aish Dos leadership institute.
RABBI DOVID ENGELBERG, a new
sixth grade rebbi, was previously a fifth
grade rebbi at Yeshiva Darchei Torah
and assistant principal in the middle
school. A talmid of Rav Shimon Alster of
the Yeshiva Gedolah of Cliffwood, New
Jersey, Rabbi Engelberg subsequently
learned at Yeshivas Mir Yerushalayim,
followed by five years at Darchei’s Kollel
Tirtza Devorah. A graduate of Rabbi Yoel
Kramer’s Merkaz for Teacher Training, he
holds a master’s degree in social work
from Long Island University.
Our new first grade rebbi is
RABBI DOVID LEIB RODKIN, an
alumnus of Yeshiva Darchei Torah. A
talmid of Rav Binyomin Schulgasser’s
Yeshiva Bais Aharon in Lakewood,
Rabbi Rodkin also learned in
Yerushalayim at Yeshivas Mir and at
Rav Daniel Belsky’s kollel. Previously an
assistant rebbi at the Yeshiva, he is a
graduate of Rabbi Yoel Kramer’s Merkaz
for Teacher Training and Rav Nachman
Zakon’s Yeshiva Teachers Institute.
The new eighth grade rebbi, RABBI
DOVID EISGRAU, taught previously
at Mesivta Ahavas HaTorah in Monsey,
New York. A talmid of Rav Mendel
Slomovits’s Yeshiva Toras Chaim in
Lakewood, Rabbi Eisgrau also learned
in Yerushalayim at Yeshivas Brisk, at
Beth Medrash Govoha in Lakewood,
and at the Parker Kollel in Monsey. He
is a graduate of Rabbi Yoel Kramer’s
Merkaz for Teacher Training.
RABBI GEDALIAH WOLLMAN, a new
sixth grade rebbi, is an alumnus of
Yeshiva Torah Temimah of Brooklyn,
where he learned under Rav Shlomo
Feivel Schustal. He is a talmid muvhak of
Rav Asher Arieli, the legendary maggid
shiur at Yeshivas Mir Yerushalayim,
with whom he developed a deep and
enduring personal kesher. Rabbi
Wollman, who studied at Rabbi Yoel
Kramer’s Merkaz for Teacher Training,
serves during the summer months as
a beloved member of the head staff at
Camp Munk in Ferndale, New York.
