3RD GRADERS ENTER
TORAH SHEB’AL PEH
WITH SONG AND COLOR
To celebrate the initiation of the third grade talmidim
in the study of Mishnayos as well as Rashi’s peirush
on Chumash, the Yeshiva held grand events with the
participation of the boys’ parents and grandparents. The
talmidim – divided into groups – sang inspiring songs
about Rashi HaKadosh and the first Mishnah in Berachos,
with each group dressed in colorful costumes that served as
distinct representations of the subjects of their singing.

FALL 5779/2018
Mesivta Chaim Shlomo’s ninth and tenth graders took second
prize in the consumer products category at the prestigious sci-
ence competition held by the Center for Initiatives in Jewish
Education (CIJE) at the New York Hilton. The competition in-
cluded 39 schools and over 1,200 students. Only 12 schools
took home awards – including Mesivta Chaim Shlomo.
The winning duo of Dan Yaakov Honig and Yisroel
Rosenberg were recognized for their invention of a tablet designed
primarily for students in underdeveloped countries. It has an espe-
cially user-friendly interface and its casing is made of a material,
manufactured by Dan Yaakov on a 3D printer, which is extremely
protective of the product, yet cheap enough to produce and re-
main affordable for the target population. Special credit is due to
Dr. Don Engelberg, program coordinator and physics instructor
at the Mesivta, for his leadership and guidance.
