September 2016 : Beating Drum Page 2
The annual strategic workshops were held across all business units during September and October 2016 , updating employees on the group ’ s performance against its 2016 - 2018 strategic objectives .
“ The vision of the business has not changed , however our approach to achieving our goals in line with this vision needs to change . As a group we have identified that we need to set clear realistic targets and build towards reaching those targets as a team .
Our values of trust , people growth , discipline and pride and the application thereof will ensure that we achieve our vision and purpose . We are operating in an ever changing environment and need to differentiate ourselves from the
crowd . We need to offer clients not only a quality product , but also the assurance of a professional team .” Shaun Webber , NMC Construction Group CEO .
Workshop participants were reminded of the analogy of cogs working together as part of a well-oiled machine ; the cogs
representing individuals within the group and the cog spokes representing their behaviours and its effect on outputs .
“ The workshop released new energy into employees reminding us that we are all part of the same team . It was a much needed wake-up call inspiring us to live our values and have fun doing it .“ Deidre Opperman , ISO Administrator .
“ Providing clients with a quality product illustrates our vision of delivering professional construction solutions .
The workshops were a good platform to share this vision once again and offered a fresh perspective on our way of operating .“ Theo Conradie , Maintenance Manager Western Cape .
