Tools You can use a whole host of things that you wouldn’t ordinarily class as a “tool” to aid you when sculpting. There are “staples” that most sculpters will use, such as clay shapers but among my collection are nail files, diamond files, straws, pens and pencils, needle tools, a bead reamer...even a debit card! Different sizes, different shapes...all leave different impressions! Needle tools are generally used by potters for measuring the depth of a slab of clay, scoring clay when using slip,for cutting out shapes in clay and for incising/drawing into the clay.
