Beads Of Courage 3 6 Step 1, condition the clay, roll it out and cut out blanks and form beads. Mine are done by rolling them around in my hand to make round ones. I shape them otherwise with my fingers into squares or bi-cones. Step 2, texture the beads if needed. Practically anything with a texture can be used in this step. It’s fun to look around in and out of the house to see what can be found to use to texture the clay. Step 3, use something to make a hole thru the bead. I usually use straws of different sizes. Step 4, Let them dry, so not to foul up the shape, then wet sand them to take off sharp edges or imperfections. Step 5, these are then glazed. Once in a while if there is time, I might bisque the beads before glazing. These are single fired beads. Step 6, fire. Here they are a couple of days later fired and ready to be sent to Beads of Courage artisanwhimsy.net
