Inspired By SCOTLAND I’m a city girl, born and raised in Liverpool, home to The Beatles, Liverpool Football Club and our famous skyline. Noisy, bustling with friendly people and doused in maritime history. Although I’m proud of my city, I’m not a city girl at heart. I hate noise, crowds and traffic. I never take advantage of what my city has to offer...nightlife, eating out, shopping...it just doesn’t interest me. Give me big dark skies full of stars, the sounds of the sea and countryside wildlife any day of the week! Fortunately my family owns a static caravan right on the shore in Galloway, South West Scotland. We’re literally maybe 6 metres from the sea... when I go to sleep I can hear the waves lapping the shore and the rushing of the river than runs down from the hills behind us and into the sea. It’s blissful. I’ve been travelling up to Scotland for many years now, driving all over Western Scotland, creativebeadchat.com as far north as the Isle of Skye. One time on our way home from Skye, we were driving through Glencoe at midnight and we passed a magnificent stag with huge antlers standing by the side of the road, lit up in the moonlight...that was probably my favourite “Scotland” moment...but I love exploring... driving off down little country lanes, not knowing what I’m going to see next. We have the coast and cliffs on one side and on the other, behind us, we have Galloway forest with her rolling hills, valleys and mountains. I love seeing all the wildlife...especially on the drives we take at dusk. Driving around the country lanes just after the sun has set brings out all the hidden wildlife...deer and fawns, baby foxes, badgers, rabbits and hares, even the odd owl!
